On April 14th, The launching ceremony of the international symposium on Space Science Education and International Space Settlement Design Competition 2019 was held in Beijing Dayuan Hotel. The conference is co-hosted by the International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC) Global Organizing Committee and Guangzhou Paison Education Media Group (China Competition Organizing Committee). The theme of the conference was "Internationalization for Development, Practice for Growth". The conference specially invited the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy, Chinese Education Center of Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee, the Communist Youth League Central Social Liaison Department, the Ministry of Education Policy and Regulation Department, China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Air and Space Exploration Information Technology Research Institute, ISSDC Organizing Committee, other experts and scholars from all walks of life, representatives from Huanggang Middle School、Beijing Wangfu Middle School and representatives from educational enterprises. They gathered together to conduct in-depth discussions on the educational philosophy, direction of development, and action plan of the aerospace science, and officially launched the Aerospace Science Programme——“2019 China ISSDC International Space Settlement Design Competition Programme”.

At the seminar, Sun Yibing, executive president of the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy, gave a guiding speech. Zhao Bo from China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, Han Guojun from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Chen Zheng from Beijing Jiaotong University made special reports. Zhou Minmin, chief scientist of Human-Computer Interaction Platform of Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shang Qingguo, dean of Beijing Aerospace Exploration and Information Technology Research Institute, Jiaqi, Peking University Market Economy Research Center, educational enterprise representatives made speeches such as Zhongke Chuangxing, Zhongyu Aerospace Science and Technology and so on. The experts and scholars said, “China’s outstanding achievements in the field of aerospace science and technology are inseparable from the long-term sustainable training of talents. The next generation’s growth in Chinese space science and technology is related to Youth Aerospace Science Education. At present, the cultivation of youth in China is gradually shifting from the traditional test-oriented education to 5C- core literacy education, namely cultural understanding and inheritance, critical thinking, creativity, communication and cooperation. Participation in ISSDC will significantly improve students’ leadership, communication skills, logical thinking skills, analytical skills, business sensitivities, teamwork skills, English writing skills and speaking skills. China needs more challenges like the way ISSDC does, to form comprehensive practical skills for the future. At the same time, experts and business representatives also pointed out that the development of aerospace science education needs to take the road of combining "Market economy, University personnel training and Scientific research institutions" . This requires the guidance of the government, the lead of the education enterprises, the close cooperation with universities and research institutes. Our goal is to establish a professional education service platform, to establish an industry development alliance, to establish professional standards, and build an innovative and international aerospace science education ecology. Government, Market Economy, University Personnel Training ,Scientific Research Institutions, Media, Financial Institution and Users will jointly promote the standardized and healthy development of China's aerospace science education.

International Space Settlement Design Competition started in 1984 and it was initiated by engineers and astronauts in the US aerospace industry. It has been more than 30 years old. In the course of its development, it has received strong supports from NASA, American Aerospace Society, JPL Lab and many other internationally renowned companies. The theme of the project is to build a space city. It involves physics, chemistry, biology, computer, automation, materials, medicine, energy, commerce, and other disciplines. This competition attracts senior students from more than 100 countries every year. At present, it is becoming a major international aerospace industry business simulation involving top seniors from five continents, and has cultivated many talents in the aerospace science and business fields.

At the meeting, the representative of ISSDC Global Organizing Committee said that ISSDC has attracted a large number of outstanding Chinese students , since it entered China, and has achieved very good results in the Finals. This shows the remarkable achievements of China's aerospace science education. We hope that ISSDC can help more teenagers around the world to uphold the great dream to explore space and pass the exploring spirit on. After that, representatives from the school of Huanggang Middle School and Beijing Wangfu Middle School made speeches. Li Lingfeng, a former winner of ISSDC , shared his precious experience.

Zhou Jian, Director of ISSDC China Organizing Committee、Chairman of Guangzhou Paison Education Media Group said, “ We will lead the committee to promote the China's Aerospace Science Education to be practical and international and to establish the relevant education base. In the next three years, we will build 10 large-scale aerospace science education bases in China, and establish 10,000 aerospace science research classes for primary, secondary schools and educational training institutions. International and domestic excellent teachers and education enterprises will be gathered, an international aerospace science curriculum system, teaching aids system and training platform will be built, and special training activities to provide the most practical and internationalized aerospace science education services for the majority of primary and middle school students will be carried out. More Chinese students will set foot on the top of the international stage.

Our country attaches great importance to the development of aerospace technology. It also emphasizes the need to build China into a space power to achieve China's space dream. With the educational idea of “Internationalization for Development, Practice for Growth”, as well as strategic actions and implementation plans for close cooperation between the international and domestic governments, we will vigorously promote the deepening of China's aerospace science education, cultivate more comprehensive practical talents for the society and more outstanding aerospace science and technology talents of next-generation for China and the world !!
